If so, apply for your funded three-week course with Altius Teacher Training in collaboration with the Department for Education. The Altius Teacher Training provider, based at Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS) in South Manchester, is graded Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted. It has mirrored the success of its lead school CHHS, judged outstanding by Ofsted in two successive inspections and recognised as the top comprehensive non-denominational non-selective state secondary in the North West. It is also consistently the highest achieving school in the borough of Stockport.
The internship programme gives you paid access to some of the best teaching and training the North West has to offer, with a follow-up support package to help you apply, interview, and succeed in your future career in teaching.

How long is the internship programme?

The Internship is a three-week programme (Monday-Friday) following a typical school day (08:00-16:00)

When does the programme run?

20th June – 8th July 2022 inclusive

Where does the programme take place?

Successful interns will receive training on site at Cheadle Hulme High School and classroom experience from a selection of our partnership schools. Every effort will be made to be sensitive to travel needs following a successful application.

How much do I get paid?

An intern participating in the full course will earn £900 for its successful completion. Circumstances requiring a withdrawal will earn a pro rata payment for participation.

What do I have to do to apply?

Once I apply, what happens?

Should your application meet the necessary criteria, you will be invited to interview on site with Altius Teacher Training and Cheadle Hulme High School. Successful applicants who access an offer with also be expected to clear an enhanced DBS check.
